Finding free, legal music for your online videos can be difficult.

As a video creator you want the perfect soundtrack for your video masterpieces.

But you also want to make sure that you don’t break any copyright laws.

After all, there’s nothing more frustrating than working hard on a video only to have someone object because of a music copyright violation.

Luckily there are some great sources online where you can find the perfect music for your video project.

Sutton Coldfield Movie Makers has purchased some Royalty Free music from AKM which is available for free to members of Sutton Coldfield Movie Makers. Go to the "Members Resources" in the Members' section of this website.

We’ve also put together a list of sites for finding royalty free music for your online videos.

(Please be aware that there are generally conditions to using the music. Read the legal stuff at the foot of each website)

Legal Music For Videos

Many musicians choose to release their songs under Creative Commons licenses, which give you the legal right to do things like use their music in your videos.

What is Creative Commons?

Creative Commons is a system that allows you to legally use “some rights reserved” music, movies, images, and other content — all for free.

CC offers free copyright licenses that anyone can use to mark their creative work with the freedoms they want it to carry.

For instance, a musician might use a Creative Commons license to allow people to legally share her songs online, make copies for friends, or even use them in videos or make remixes.
